The Rise Study
Social science research into the culture of the avalanche and guiding industry in Canada in 2019 revealed systemic harassment and discrimination.
The Rise Study (2025) digs deeper into the lived experiences behind the 2019 statistics, and the implications for safety and risk management. It is an intersectional feminist human geography study into mountain culture in the mountain guiding and avalanche profession worldwide.
